Sophisticated Editorial and Writing Services for the Affluent Market

The essence of quality is in the details...

From conveying the intricacies of a complicated Swiss watch movement to the precise cutting and polishing of an exotic gem to the pleasures of a five-star travel experience, Laurie Kahle of ATELIERink has mastered the art of luxury-lifestyle story telling.

True luxury is not a matter of simple expense or precious materials, it involves rarity, art, craft, ingenuity, heritage, tradition, and state-of-the-art technology. Laurie's stories share a connoisseur's appreciation of these finer details in prose that is rich in narrative and entertaining to read.

For more than eight years as senior editor at Robb Report—directing coverage of watches, jewelry, fashion, and spas—Laurie honed her skills at presenting in-depth perspectives on the world's finest objects and travel experiences to an ultra-affluent audience. She now offers that insight, experience, and talent to publications, websites, and prestige brands that wish to refine their message and enhance their authoritative voice in this rarefied world.

 News:

Laurie recently returned from visiting Amanpuri in Phuket, Thailand, and the new Aman at Summer Palace in Beijing for upcoming travel stories. She stopped off at the   Landmark Mandarin Oriental hotel in Hong Kong on her return to Boston.

In April, Laurie went to Antigua, where she attended the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, sponsored by Panerai. Laurie sailed on the yacht Wild Horses out of Newport, R.I.
To mark the event, Panerai launched a limited-edition Luminor 1950 Regatta Rattrapante 44mm DLC watch. (http://www.robbreport.com/Panerai’s-Time-at-Sea). The brand will produce only 500 pieces of this COSC-certified split-second chronograph that counts down the five minutes until the start of the race. The double column-wheel rattrapante, or split-second chronograph, allows timing of two events starting at the same time, thanks to a second hand that can be stopped and realigned with the first while the latter continues timing. Aside from its noted technical aspects, the piece is distinguished from previous Regatta models with its slick black DLC-treated case and black dial.

Laurie attended this year's BaselWorld fair in Basel, Switzerland, and the invitation-only Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva to view the latest watch and jewelry collections.

In December, Laurie went to San Francisco to preview IWC's Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth Edition Adventure Ecology (www.iwc.com). This extreme sport watch marks the launch of the IWC-sponsored Plastiki expedition by Adventure Ecology, which was founded by adventurer/
environmentalist David de Rothschild.   Built from recycled PET plastic and using recycled plastic soda bottles for flotation, Plastiki will attempt to sail from San Francisco to Sydney this summer.
The watch was built to be more robust than any previous IWC timepiece, having undergone more than 30 extreme condition tests for endurance including temperature variations (between –20°C and +70°C) at varying humidity levels, corrosion, shock resistance, water resistance (up to 12 bar), and magnetic field testing.
Last fall, Laurie traveled to Botswana, where she visited Xaranna, Xudum, and Chobe Under Canvas, new camps and lodges operated by &Beyond (formerly CC Africa): www.andbeyond.com.
