About Laurie...

For more than a decade, Laurie has specialized in writing about the finer things in life. Before founding ATELIERink in 2008, she spent more than eight years as senior editor at Robb Report directing editorial coverage of watches, jewelry, fashion, spas, pens, grooming, and fragrance. Her extensive and diversified experience endows her with the ability to understand the essence of luxury and to bring it to life for her readers—whether a story involves the development of a rare collector's timepiece, the production of platinum, or a safari cruise in the remote Peruvian Amazon.

Laurie has toured the top Swiss watch factories; she has explored mines in South Africa, Brazil, and Siberia; and she has traveled to the world's most exclusive hotels and resorts—from Bora Bora to Botswana to St. Moritz. These personal experiences along with her vast network in the upper echelons of the luxury realm have enriched her with a bigger-picture perspective on the luxury market as well as a firm intellectual grasp of the finer details that define and distinguish true rarity, quality, and authenticity.

Laurie is a regular contributor to Robb Report, Robb Report.com, Modern Luxury Media (regional and city magazines including Manhattan, Angeleno, Chicago Social, The Men's Book, bridal magazines, and others), and Celebrated Living (American Airlines' first/business-class magazine). Her other clients include ForbesLife, Town & Country, Travel+Leisure, Four Seasons (hotel magazine and website), Watch Journal, Conde Nast Portfolio.com, Elite Traveler, Outside's Go, Art & Antiques, Biltmore (hotel magazine), and Boston Common

A native of Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan, Laurie graduated from Boston College earning a B.A. in communications with cum laude honors. She launched her editorial career in New York City where she was an editor at Fairchild Publications and at Accent magazine. She currently resides near Boston with her husband, Christopher Elicone, and their two children, Corinne and Eric. An avid traveler, Laurie has visited Antigua, Australia, Botswana, China, England, France, Italy, Morocco, New Zealand, Peru, Russia, South Africa, Spain, St. Barthelemy, Switzerland, and Thailand over the past few years.
